The Balance Series began because I wanted to create a couple of black and white pieces for a gallery show called "Black and White." The yin yang is one of my favorite symbols, and seemed a natural choice for the show. I also enjoy working with circular shapes within a square, which was the format I used for most of the Tao Series. In a sense, the Balance Series is a continuation of the Tao Series, and it reflects a more personal journey of my own search for balance in my life.
